Goats

Thank you for your interest in Northland Dairy Goats.

Our Sable goats provide our family’s dairy and dairy products. We understand practical value. We take quality very seriously. Our foundation Sables are from the best of the best.

All of our breeding stock have National champion pedigrees and high production potential.  The grand dam of our latest addition doe is the all-time Sable Milk Production Record Holder SGCH KLISSE’S KOOH FIFTH AVENUE. A 5800 pound producer with a Holstein like udder.  Other pedigrees include SGCH Klisse’s GSMS TRIUMPH OF HOPE, 4x National Champion and several Top Ten lactation with 50 Best In Show wins to her name, SGCH KLISSE’S NSNN CATASTROPHE OF HOPE a daughter of NOBLE SPRINGS NIGHT NIGHT and a 3800+lb producer also with a Holstein like udder. It’s our mission to offer access to Sables of high productive and competitive show potential and to inspire local interest in dairy goats and home dairying.

Our goats live and play in natural hardwood forest and meadows. They are fed high quality hay and nutritionally balanced complete feed to keep them in top shape and their milk sweet and mild. Free choice minerals are always available.  A vaccination program is used that includes annual CDT, and CL. We fecal test and deworm only when necessary to prevent parasite resistance. Our animals are given Copper boluses and Bo-se injections yearly. Kids are given an injection of Bovi-Sera and probiotics orally at birth to start them out well. We do keep kids on the dam for the first few weeks. Our full time jobs do not allow us the option to strictly bottle feed at this time. We strive to add foundation stock only from CAE free herds.

Why Sables?

What are Sables? The “dairy cow” of the goat family is the Saanen/Sable breed. Saanens are pure white. Sables are basically colored Saanens. We chose the Sable because we were looking for a healthy source of dairy for our family but did not want to waste our effort for a small amount of milk.
